Are we in Solvang?

Old timer who we thought was going to be our trishaw driver. . .

Until he cycled out of the hotel entrance and passed us off to a younger and seemingly more capable guy -- we were really concerned when we first got in that this guy just wouldn't make it all the way to the Portuguese Village (which was far)

El Gordo was our new driver, who amazingly got us their no problem

She's the one who won us over to eat at Joan and Chico's

There were at least a half dozen joints to choose from in the Portuguese village, all vying for you to sit down at their restaurant.  This is who eventually won us over, with her promises of a delicious black peppered crab and butter and herb prawns.

The Portuguese don't mess around when it comes to delicious and fresh seafood, which we scarfed up in no time hanging out a this locals joint.

Entrepreneurial driver that convinced Jason to cycle half the way home
