03.08.07 - 03.12.07 Sydney, Australia Avillion Hotel

This place is all about the central location.  It's right in the heart of the action on Liverpool and Pitt street, yet far enough away from the overly tourist areas (ie Darling Harbour).  The room is simple, but comfortable with a nice big bed.

Great roof deck pool and view of the city.  The room was basic, but also quite cheap.  Excellent location about 3 blocks from the lagoon and marina, and one block from the Abbot Esplanade.

This truly is one of the most magnificent resorts we have ever stayed in.  The pools definitely are what make it so spectacular, with a wrap-around lagoon that goes all the way around the resort.  The first 3 nights we were in a studio, but were moved into a swim out unit for our last 2 nights.  Although the beauty compensates for it, the service and staff have been rude and generally unfriendly.

This place kind of reminded us both of Arizona, although that was probably just the 100 degree heat outside.  And of course the ocean and marina surrounding it certainly was not reminiscent of AZ.  The view from our room of the mountains and city looked a little like Camel Back Mountain to us.

02.25.07 - 02.28.07 Whitsundays, Australia Pacific Sunrise Sail

Although the room itself wasn't the most luxurious (and in fact quite musty smelling), the boat itself was beautiful.  We actually tried to avoid spending too much time in the room, since it was soooo musty - I think that just might be par for the course on boats though.  I would certainly take a sail on this ship again.

We haven't quite explored the resort yet, although our room isn't that nice.  The view is great though, which is what I snapped this picture of.  We got a killer deal at the last second, so went with this place.  A local in the cab with us told us that supposedly this is one of the nicer resorts in the area.

02.21.07 - 02.24.07 Brisbane, Australia Quest Serviced Apartments Spring Hill

All we could say was wow when we walked into this 2 bed/2 bath place, which was reasonably priced.  It was huge, with a large balcony.  The views were amazing of the city.  The internet was slow the first day, but then seems the router was reset and it worked out.  Great location on Upper Edward, a 5 minute stroll to Queen Street Mall.  Also, the in unit laundry was a huge bonus.

02.17.07 - 02.21.07 Melbourne, Australia Oaks on Collins

Situated in the heart of the city, opposite the Rialto Towers, Oaks On Collins is a fabulous new apartment hotel comprising of superbly appointed, self contained New York style studios.  Our room is super comfortable, and completely decked out in our contemporary style.  It's located close to everything.  We're very pleased with this place, and it's even a good value.

02.14.07 - 02.17.07  Sydney, Australia. Execaccom

This was a little different sort of accomodation.  Execaccom was a business oriented guest house that had high tech facilities.  We had our own room, however the living area and kitchen were shared spaces.  For the price and the location in Darlinghurst, it was a great find.  Jason didn't really love the idea of the shared accomodation concept, so don't know if we'll be doing that one again.
