Hey Guys! Great website. Hope you are having fun in Tokyo. I head back to NYC today BUT I wanted to remind you to visit this amazing little town in Italy on the coast called Forte Dei Marmi. It is kind of close to Milan but you can also get there by driving from the South of France (Cap DAntibes is a beautiful spot in the South of France by the way!) Anyhow, you must go to Forte if you are in Italy this summer - its like the Hamptons of Milan - amazing beaches and restaurants, shops, gelato! Safe travels.

Don't know how much time you have in Italy, but when we were there we really enjoyed our stay in Tuscany. Their are B&Bs on some of the wineries and it makes for a real relaxing few days.
As much as Venice is maligned for it's smell and dirt, we found nothing of that. Just don't get taken for one of the Island Glass tours, they are not all they are cracked up to be.

If you travel north to Lake Como, you will find some beautiful tropical areas.

Forte dei Marmi is about 2 hours drive from Milan.
It's a resort area for the summer.... it's more important you go to Rome, Venice, and Florence........ everything else comes later!

Hey guys! just a couple of suggestions for Italy...if you make it to Florence, there is a little restaurant called Il Latini...absolutely fabulous, and totally reasonably priced! There is a town in Tuscany called San Gimignano (I think that's how it's spelled...) It's a walled city with killer places to eat and a really cool midieval torture museum. If I can remember the name of the restaurant in Venice that was delicious (they all are, of course) I'll let you know...
Have fun! miss you...
