Looks like a great trip! Just a little note that you spelled the name of a city in Switzerland wrong - it's 'Lausanne' not 'Laussane' - I know because I live here!
Was just browsing through the net in my office and happened upon your blog. It is really very well written and quit comprehensive in explaining with a very simple language.
I've been looking for information I needed for a long time, but only your site has helped me to find it. Thank you very much. I'm sure to tell my friends about you
Cousin Joy, It's been a year since you two were here in Beer Sheva, Israel. Yom Kippur is coming around again soon and I find myself reflecting on the remarkable journey you were on when I met you during your round-the-world travels. Now there are three of you. Kol HaKavod. Your next great adventure is just beginning for you both as you journey into the world of parenthood. Success in all your endeavors. I hope you continue to keep us posted on your website as you pass the milestone of life along this road to your fulfilment. Your Cousin, Aaron Leeper
This website was so much fun to check out. My wife and I are both in awe of some of your adventures. Hopefully one day in the near future we will cross paths again!
welcome back - what a fantastic adventure. it has been wonderful living vicariously through each of you!! Glad you made it back safely - Jason - see you at PPAI!!
Hey Joy and Jason, It's your downstairs neighbors! We've been trying to keep up with your travels. What an amazing trip and what amazing people you are. The website blows our minds, like your journey! No exciting details from 1600 Webster to bother you with. We've hardly heard your renters--in fact, we're pretty sure that the twins have not been living there. Never seen 'em or heard 'em. We're planning our next vacation and we are using your website as an good resource. We may contact your travel guy (although, unfortunately we won't be headed around the world--yet.) We wish you continued safe travels. Leah and Arman
Hello Friends!!! Congratulations. I would like to follow you in your future wanderingwalk at all over the world. I can show you Barcelona, but not only the city. I can show you other places outside of the city. We will keep in touch, by video chat, by videoblog or by broadcasting. Nice to meet you and I wish the best for you. See You soon.
Hey guys- it seems a long while since we met in Beijing and you sure have been busy by the look of your blog. It's great reading what you're up to and remembering what fun you guys are to hang out with! Pity we didn't get to hook up while you were in the UK, although we were in a totally different area from you (visiting my new nephew- so adorable!)- maybe the next time will be in SF?...Safe travels. Kath & Jake (Hong Kong)
Joy and Jason, Your updates become more and more wonderful with each added country. Of course we thank you for including the great pictures and videos of your Switzerland trip and our baby grand(son), Liam! We look forward to more vicarious travels, especially in Croatia. Happy trails and safe journeys...
It hasn't even been 24 hours since we left you guys and I'm already planning in my head our future travel plans together. House rental in Tahoe? Maybe something on the east coast?!?! We had the best time with you guys and we love you tremendously. Liam keeps asking about Jason. I think he really misses his new buddy. I know how he feels!
I am so enjoying reading about all your travels around the globe. You two look like you are having the best time. I was so thrilled to get the link to your website from Deborah. Like Susie said, your enthusiasm for travel/adventure is inspiration and brings back fond memories of my travels through Europe. Thanks for brightening my day with wonderful memories and glorious glimpses into your beautiful memories! I cannot wait to grab a cocktail upon your return and hear of all your adventures in person!
You two are the greatest writers!!! I am putting together a list of where i need to go. I'm in Ireland, Paris and London in Oct - and am SO excited about hitting up some of your spots. Thanks for all the info - and yes, i need to echo the jealousy sentiments, I'm so happy for you both. Way to travel Walkers!
Joy and Jason -Deborah sent out a proud email announcing pictures posted on the wanderingWalkers website. Oh what fun you guys are having! Your experiences this year are impressive. Moreover, your enthusiasm for adventure and travel are inspirational. Thanks for sharing, Enjoy!
Well another Saturday night at the shelter for us.... We know you're jealous! We live vicariously through our fancy Jewish friends. You're still buying us things from each place you visit right? COME HOME ALREADY!!! We miss you....P.S. Big fancy news for us.. Jenny got 8 new teeth & h-lo had gastric bypass!!! Now whose jealous ?!! kisses and shalom!!
Looks like you both are having the time of your life! I think I am going to ask Mark to move to Belgium…chocolate, beer, waffles and cheap diamonds! Why would anyone ever want to leave! Well, I was just checking in on your travels to see what you both were up to! I can’t believe you have been gone this long…we are looking forward to seeing you when you return and listening to all your awesome stories!
Hi guys! Finally back at home. Last week I was very tired and had little use of the computer. Scott used mine the whole week. He just got his new one. I'm so glad to have my office back. And, you will be impressed - or maybe not - he got me the flat screen I have wanted and really needed. I wanted to say we had such a wonderful time with you both!!! You will be happy to know that Ari is doing well now. It was not something permanent which is good!!!! So good!!! She had a few more tantrum days like that in Ohio and when we got home last week, she was so happy to be in her house and with her toys and the routine. She really has not had any tantrums at all. Simple ones that don't last long. She was really run down. The trip for her was a bit too long. We could have kept going though, but are lucky to do what we did. The Hamptons was a great day. I will send pics. And, Ohio was REALLY fun for Scott. I'm so glad we went to his reunion. Thank you so much for the t-shirt, outfit and doll. And for being such great travel companions. We will always have such great memories of all of us in Ireland. Luv, Amanda
Hi Joy and Jason, You both never cease to amaze us with your adventures!!! You are also a great resource. We may plan to go to New Zealand this winter and will be getting lots of ideas from your website!!1 Hope you continue to have a blast. Love, Judy and Barry
This is Suji from Tokyo. How are you? I finally stopped by and read your journals. This is such a great website and i have no idea how you guys can find time to make this while traveling around the world. Thank you so much for good stories and motivation.
For me, we are opening up another restaurant in Seoul in 3 weeks and I'll be back and forth a lot to Korea in that matter. Very exciting but also, tired....
Well, I hope you guys make the most out for the next 6 months. I will stop by time to time to see how you're doing!
Hello hello! I'm in CA visiting the family, and Debs just alerted me to your "trip" and website. Wow. Wow wow wow wow. I echo everyone's expressions of jealously, except for the great white shark gig. I couldn't stop yelling at the YouTube video, "Oh my god, oy vay, holy $%@#." Debs says I sound like a good Jewish mother. All I can say is my heart rate has finally slowed down.
In any case, keep it up! I'll be sure to return to read about your next adventure.
Hey, you probably don't remember me but I was a drinking buddy of Scott's in his single S.F. days. Anyway, Rolf told me about your website and travels. It appears that you are making the most of it. I would love to hear all about it and catch you when you return.
Tell Scott to write sometime. Would like to find out how his growing family is doing.
Walkers! Falato just pointed me at this site. We just got back from our honeymoon to Italy, Germany, and Singapore. I thought that was a pretty good trip. Now... I'm jealous. Good on ya.
Hi. Your travels sound wonderful. It's great to hear about many places that I will never be. My only news is that, in addition to my car accident injuries, I managed to break my foot at a cousin's wedding in Santa Barbara. Running down the stairs because the elevator was too slow, I realized I didn't have the MapQuest directions to the place I was having my hair done. Tried to pivot in mid-run and it didn't work too well. Pulled myself together, limped up and got the directions and the directions were totally wrong. Never got to the hair salon. Too funny. The other thing in my life is that I just spent three days up at Greg's apt. in NYC and I love NY. Totally. I can't believe how great it is. Been there before but this time I did more exploring on my own and, with cast, walked the streets. Love, love, love it. Can't wait to go back. I'll have to find someplace cheap to stay or I'll drive Greg crazy (of course he moved in with me into my one bedroom apt in St. Davids, PA, for almost a year so maybe I should tell him he owes me). ;p Anyway, have fun, be safe and see every wonderful, new thing that you can. Love, Joyce
Okay, this question is for Jason (since I remember that you said he has a knack for being a little schemer whenever necessary)... How can I do this honeymoon thing when I hit the road next? Do you think I could score twice-as-much if I say it was 'supposed' to be my honeymoon, but he broke up with me right before and I'm taking the honeymoon anyway????
To say that you are missed is obvious, but I have to say that I am very impressed with the site and all that you have accomplished so far, with what, 6 months still to go! Looking forward to getting re-aquainted when you return. Take care and have a drink or 2 for me!
Hey Joyson! Thanks for the drinks and the game of pool! I guess the company at dinner was ok too... Was great to meet you and we love the business card/website!
My personal favourite is the "There's always one in the group", couldn't agree more, very funny. What can I say? Us Aussies love short shorts at a buffet table!
Take care and we'll let you know what we get up to in SF.
As I've mentioned in our e-mails to you, the experiences you guys are having will stay with you for a lifetime. This is a college education in travel, learning about other cultures, languages, geography, etc which will mean more than any degree, and even more importantly seeing and appreciating what God created for you like sunsets, mountains, oceans, etc. Mom and I are so thankful we can share your experiences this way. Alright, so maybe this works a little better than my WebTv.
Your website is the best reality show on earth right now. My wife and I are going to be doing a 12 month around the world trip ourselves for '08 and your website is not only a great resource, but an incredible inspiration. Also, it's refreshing that your comments show humor. It let's me know that I can trust your opinions. Thank you and keep up the outstanding work. -Derek
The two of you are so smart to do all this traveling now. I love looking at your pictures and remembering the travels I took BC (before children). I think that Terry and I will travel to Japan some time soon based on your hearty recommendation! Oh, I passed the first licensing exam!!!! One more to go. Thanks for your good wishes during the process. Have fun! Debbie Bellings-Kee
Hi Joy and Jason! I love reading about your incredible travels! You have already been to many more exciting places than us, and we've traveled a lot! What a Website-a treasure! We look forward to continuing on your travels vicariously.... Stay well, Karen & Steve (Julie & Adam's Mom & Dad!)
What an amazing journey.. I was just thinking of you all and boom, here comes an update.. I was in Hong Kong in the early 80's and one of the most memorable trips was going on a hydrafoil to Macow- we went into what was then called Red China and visited a little town which was life altering. You have probably seen a lot of that I am sure.. If you are in Hong Kong, another great experience is going to the island of Kowloon and dining at the Penninsula Hotel. It is amazing and I remember the menu's were worth the meal. I would imagine it has changed so much. I also remember Repulse Bay and they still had that glorious hotel which has now been taken down but we went out on a boat ride and dined one night which was fun as we toured the bay among the tiny boats and fisherman..saw the boat people and how they lived. It was amazing..
So good to hear from you. Dan and I are the next ones out.. We are planning a trip around the world after we retire and you will be the first ones we call. All the best and miss talking to you Jason- creative merchandise is still a great site and you are brilliant.. I will call Darryl and Diane as I didn't know he was going through this heart deal. Safe travels to you both. All the best,Susan
HOLY shit... I mean i know you all are having a great time, but wow... How the hell do you have time to make a website like this in the meantime?? Jason! Stop doing this website and have sex! What country are you all making the baby in again? haha.
I love the top 10 list, especially "adventures." Looks like so much fun!! You are motivating sarah and i to do one of these but for like 2-3 months or something, not a year, lol. We miss you guys and cant wait until you can come next to Redondo Beach and party with us! Have safe travels, Josh and Sarah
