Walking around Stephen's Green Park with the gang
This park was the quickest way for us to get to Grafton Street, so we walked through here a lot. The beautiful lawn and flowers, as well ponds were lovely to look at.
-
Guiness Drinking at local Pubs
No visit would be complete to this town with out drinking your fareshare of Guiness, which we have!
-
Dinner at Peploe's
This was such a fun way to spend our first night seeing Scott and Amanda, especially since we got a sitter for Ari which allowed for a very fun "adult" evening!
-
Grafton Street
This street crossed right through the center of town, so it's almost impossible not to be here on a daily basis. It's nice that it was closed off to cars, and was only a pedestrian street.
-
Darts at the Local Bar
Great brother bonding time over a couple pints and some darts -- doesn't get better then that!
-
Night out with Bern and Eddie (locals!)
The evening began at Venu restaurant for dinner, then continued to John Kehoe's pub for drinks, then we moved the festivities to their lovely home, and eventually we ended the evening with a late night doner kebab!
-
Guiness Brewery Storehouse Tour
It was interesting to learn about the process of developing Guiness. We had lunch in the upper floor restaurant looking out onto an amazing view of Dublin.
-
Wandering Around Temple Bar
This district is filled with tons of restaurants and pubs, and is a very hot place to go out at night. We enjoyed meandering around during this sunny day.
-
Keane Concert - 07.19.07
One of our favorite Brit pop bands just happened to be in Dublin while we were there, and we had to see them. It was a great show, and we had so much fun!
-
Train from Dublin to Cork - 07.20.07
We were originally supposed to fly in RyanAir the day before, however since we extended our stay to see Keane we decided it would be just as easy to take the 3 hour train ride down to Cork. It was super fast, and we didn't have to deal with the chaos of the airlines!
-
Play Time With Ari
A lot of the visit is play time with Ari, which is fun for us (minus the temper tantrums!) We stopped at this little park in the town of Carrologan and frolicked arond for a bit.
-
Afternoon in Kinsale - 07.21.07
This adorable little town on the water was great fun to walk around. We saw quite a vocal side of Ari, we had never seen in her little temper tantrums. The area was quite quiant though.
-
Ring of Kerry - 07.22.07
The Ring of Kerry is part of the mystical & unspoilt region of Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. We took a tour for this 100 mile drive around the beautiful Penninsula. The views were gorgeous, although we hit some rainy weather which kind of put a damper in things. Overall, it was a great way to see that area.
-
Killarney - 07.22.07 - 07.23.07
Killarnery is one of Ireland's leading tourist destinations because of the abundant scenery nearby in Killarney National Park. It is also situated on the Ring of Kerry scenic drive. We stayed in an adorable B and B with Scott, Amanda and Ari, and had fun exploring the town. We even got a night out with just the grownups, since they got a sitter for Ari!
-
Horse Buggy Ride thru Killarney National Park - 07.23.07
We took a buggy ride to the Muckross House and Gardens located 2 miles into the Killarney National Park. Queen Victoria stayed here for 2 nights, and it took 6 years to prepare for her visit. We got to take in the beautiful scenery of the lake and the mountains around.

Kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle - 07.23.07
Blarney Castle is an old ruin famous for the Blarney stone that supposedly give the gift of eloquence to all those who kiss it. You have to bend over backwards on the top of the castle to kiss it. It is all very touristy, you can even buy a certificate to prove you kissed the stone. But the surrounding are really nice.
