Museum of Man and Sciene in Downtown Jo'berg
This visit gave us a fascinating look into traditional homeopathic forms of medicine used in the country. We saw many types of herbs, as well objects as bones and drums used in healing ceremonies.

Visit to Soweto and home of Grandma Elizabeth who cares for these children
This was an incredibly moving experience being surrounded by these incredibly affectionate children who were so poor they barely had food to eat each day. All they wanted to do was hold our hands. Jason was so cute with a couple of the children.

Nelson Mandela Museum Tour
Mandela's former home in West Orlando, Soweto has been converted to a musuem. We got a tour of this little home, and heard about the history of Mandela, his wives and children.
-
Apartheid Museum
Fascinating museum tracing the history and fall of apartheid. We spent over 4 hours here, since our tour guide dropped us off, and wasn't to come until late in the afternoon. So, we are quite the experts on apartheid now.
-
Safari in the Sabi Sands
WE spent 4 days at Arathusa lodge, going on two game drives a day, plus a bush walk. We were incredibly lucky to spot the Big 5 during our time there of water buffalo, elephants, leopards, lions and rhino's.
-
Bantry Bay -- Cape Town
WE drove up to this little town in the Cape to view the amazing views. WE also walked along the mussel-filled beach.
-
V & A Waterfront
We walked here from our hotel, explored the shops, had lunch, and Jason even managed to find his Oasics that he'd been searching for through many countries for.
-
Robben Island Tour
This is where Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years. The prison no longer operates, however there are some amazing stories that come out of this place.

The Vault Dinner with Josj and Sarah
This was soooooo much fun! Our 5 course meal was delicious, and the bottles of wine to compliment each dish were superb. This was one of our later evenings of the trips, ending with cigars in the smoking lounge.
-
Cage Diving with Great White Sharks
No doubt this was one of the scarier and more adventurous things we have done thus far. We saw probably at least 10 different sharks that were attracted to the chumm and bait that was being tossed in the water. Once immersed in the water I thought was going to freeze to death, but low and behold I've since thawed out.

Moyo at Spier Winery
This is definitely more then just a dinner but also a fun cultural experience (probably more touristy then authentic). We really enjoyed it though, and all had our faces painted with fun designs. I really enjoyed watching some of the performers dance and drum.

View from Lower Table Mountains
Our plan to take the cable car to the top of the mountains was spoiled by the high winds that didn't allow the cars to go up that day. We still got a lovely view from the bottom of them, although was definitely bummed to not be able to get to the top!
