We really enjoyed taking in the views of the beautiful lake along the esplanade. It was so gorgeous.
-
Coffee Time
We've taken a fare share of coffee breaks in our time in Switzerland. This one happened to in Rolle at a little cafe looking out onto the water.
-
Morges Saturday Morning Market
The little town of Morges was packed with people this Saturday morning. There was a lovely market selling fresh foods, as well local crafts. You can see Debs and Ethan hand in hand enjoying the morning.
-
Exploring the Hills of Rolle
We had a car this day, so we drove around the backroads mostly through a lot of empty towns. The views of the vineyards were wonderful. Although the plan was to go wine tasting, apparently the wineries don't open until 5pm and do their tastings in the evenings. So, we ended up parking, having a quick drink at a local cafe, and then going for a walk through the hills of Rolle. You can see Jason sporting the Baby Bjorn this afternoon.

Swiss Paddle Steamer over to France
t's such a cool concept that in 30 minutes, we could be in a different country. We took the ferry from different points in France, and had a wonderful day.
-
Ferry Visit to St.-Prex
Our first stop of the day was at a little town called St-Prex in France. This was an adorable little town that we ate lunch in. Lunch wasn't too memorable, but it was a gorgeous day and we were able to at least soak up the sunshine sitting outside.
-
Ferry Visit to Evian and Laussane
An hour from St. Prex by ferry was Evian. We had two hours to explore this town famous for the delicious pur water that is bottled and sold for lots of money all over the world. We even were able to fill up our water bottle with the pure goodness, which many people were lined up to do as well. Jason and I wandered around solo for a bit, and came across a table tennis tournament that looked like so much fun. Our last ferry stop was in Ouchy/Laussane. Here, we hiked up the very steep hill to Laussane, known as the SF of Switzerland, and had dinner in this little town.

More Ferry Riding
I just liked this picture of Debs and I, looking out onto the town of Evian as we departed from there. As you can see, we got an incredibly gorgeous day. It was fun to be sharing these adventures with Debs, since it brought back many memories of all the exciting times we had living together for 2 years in Israel. We did a lot of exploring in those days!

Train Ride to Interlaken
This really was an adventure, taking almost half a day to get to our destination. 3 train transfers, and a walk to and from the train stations, finally got us to our beautiful destination in Interlaken. We all had first a gasp, then a chuckle, when this soldier got on the train, and was standing with his gun precariously close to Liam. You can tell Ethan was pretty cool about the whole thing. . .
-
Journey to The Top of Europe
Interlaken is famous for the Swiss Alps that surround it, as well the highest train station in Europe called Jungfraujoch. WE paid the exorbinant ticket price ($150 US/pp), and made the 3 hour train trek to the top of the mountain, which I must say is so worth it. You can see our train transfer stops and how beautiful they all were.
-
Hike at the Kleine Scheidegg Train Station Stop
The moment we disembarked from the train at this stop, we new we had to take some extra tiime and hike around the area. The views as you can see were remarkable. We also ate a delicious bratwurst here, as well got a pop-a-squat in with some cows in the background.
-
Ice Palace at Top of Europe
This ice palace was filled with ice caves and ice sculptures, which were really neat. It was of course quite cold in here, but we warmed up by shuffling and sliding along the icy ground.
-
Plateau at the Top of Europe
This outside area was so much fun to play around. The snow was gorgeous, and the views were out of this world. Of course, we had to snap the classic picture of Jason holding the Swiss Flag. We were 11,000 feet high at this point.
-
Hanging in Intelaken with the Gang
The last day we were inInterlaken, we took a walk along the raging river that connects to the lakes. We eventually ended up at this beautiful pool, which looks out on Jungfrau and the surrounding mountains. We relaxed with some lunch at this wonderful spot.

Play Time with Liam
Lots of time was spent trying to get the little guy to giggle, since that is the best site on the world. Jason mastered the process, with lots of funny noises and sayings, which he'd just repeat over and over again. Not sure who got more enjoyment out of it -- I think probably Jason!
