Mandarin Oriental - 05.23.07 - 05.26.07
Kuala Lumpur is known for having the cheapest 5 star hotels in the world, thus we had to take advantage of staying in this number one rated hotel in the city. Located adjacent to the world famous, 88 storey Petronas Twin Towers, with far reaching views overlooking the lush 50 acre KLCC Park, this hotel is all class. The upgrade to a corner room that has views from two sides was a nice "honeymoon" treat. This place is all about service -- we loved it so much that we extended our stay by an extra couple nights. The breakfast buffet has been the nicest one we've indulged in on our trip this far.

Hotel Equatorial Melaka - 05.26.07 - 05.28.07
This was the supposed "nicest" 5 star hotel in the city. The 4 elevators, all of which we had to wait at least a solid 5 minutes to come were terriblly slow and always overcrowded with people. This hotel was definitely not service with a smile. We had to attempt 3 times to receive a power adapter -- still waiting on it. It was nice that the person who checked us in upgraded us to a suite that had 2 bathrooms and a large living area, although he informed us that was only because he felt sorry we apparently way over-paid for the room in the first place. The only thing this place has going for it is location, right next to the Melaca Mega-Mall and walking distance to all the city sites.
